Meet Clayton…

W. Clayton Rowe (MBA, ThM)

Principal

Clayton uses his gifts as innovator, collaborator, facilitator, educator, and coach to cultivate the well-being of leaders, organizations, and communities. Since 2000, he has invested in organizations in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and around the globe. During his down time, he loves to travel, see art-house films, serves a judge for the Booktube Prize, volunteers and rediscover his Irish, English, and French heritage.

Clayton is probably the most gifted, genuine and resourceful consultant I have ever worked with, or met, in my 22 years of working in the Voluntary and Community sector in Northern Ireland.

Clayton has what seems like an endless supply of useful models and frameworks to help small/ medium nonprofits consider organisational capacity and work through various stages of development from strategy and business plans through to communication strategies to support impact reporting and resource diversification.

His expertise and hands on approach is exactly the sort of active support and encouragement any non-profit leader needs in this ever-challenging context of change.

The models my colleague and I have been working with have helped to us to arrange our thinking in a more streamlined way, to make clearer sense of all the component parts of the organisation and how they interact and identify manageable targets and steps to progress things in a resilient manner.

Along the journey of this past few years, I have also been fortunate to access executive coaching from Clayton and have found a new confidence and resilience knowing that I have the external support I need to also grow and develop in my own leadership journey.

And my work with Clayton is still in the early stages yet incredible that I am much steadier and feel more empowered about the whole enterprise ahead as I lead CRIS into its fifth decade of operations with confidence and clarity of purpose.

Clayton has been mentoring me to develop our charity, The Parent Rooms. From the outset, Clayton was extremely helpful, supportive and really helped me to focus on laying strong foundations within our organisation so that we can grow in a sustainable and impactful way.

During our mentorship, Clayton helped me to develop a strategy for building a sustainable future, including setting up a fundraising program, creating a resource development plan, and even taking us through a full rebranding exercise.

It is not an overestimation to say that much of the growth and stability we’ve managed to put in place in the last few months wouldn’t have been possible without Clayton’s input. Not only has he been patient, understanding, and empathetic throughout our mentorship, his keen business skills and his ability to explain often complex ideas to someone who has very little experience in this field have been a godsend.

I will be forever grateful to Clayton for the skills and experience he so generously shared with me and his impact will echo through The Parent Rooms for many years to come.

CEO

Clayton’s unfailing support and challenging presence created the space I needed to think deeply and creatively about the future of Saphara. In reviewing and clarifying our core values, mission and vision, we re-envisioned a future for our organisation that was more robust and sustainable that ever before.

As the CEO of an educational non-profit facilitating transformational encounters between young people in divided societies, the pandemic hit us hard, potentially threatening our very survival. Into this harsh reality stepped Clayton Rowe in Sept 2020 and my mentorship journey with him and the re-envisioning of our future began.

Clayton’s range of excellent tools gave a useful framework for our sessions. The months of patient work have paid off in a new creativity at the core of Saphara and among our staff.

I owe this in no small measure to Clayton who brings his many years of experience and expertise to stimulate new and innovative ways to confront the realities of these challenging times. Being able to deal flexibly and creatively in the midst of change has strengthened our foundations and enabled us to build for the future.

Thank you, Clayton, for all your support!
